Doherty - Born in Middlesbrough, included in the Times 100 Masters of Crime list, he has published a series of historical mysteries set in the Middle Ages, Classical, Greek, Ancient Egypt and elsewhere. He writes under his own name, both as P.C. Doherty and Paul C. Doherty, as well as the pennames: Anna Apostolou, Michael Clynes, Ann Dukthas, C. L. Grace, Paul Harding, and Vanessa Alexander.
Richard Milward - Richard Milward was born in Middlesbrough in 1984. His debut novel, Apples, was published in 2007, to great acclaim and his new novel, Ten Storey Love Song, is a stunning piece of prose set in a ten-storey block of flats in the North-East.
