jason manford confirms middlesbrough town hall tour date

Teesside’s comedy fans have another huge treat ahead, with top TV comic Jason Manford bringing his brand-new show Muddle Class to Middlesbrough Town Hall on Friday 6 July next year.

Tickets go on sale at 10am this Friday morning (13 October), with the gig marking a hugely welcome Teesside return for Jason after a string of sold-out shows at the Town Hall over the last few years.

The keenly anticipated date adds to shows by Russell Brand (31 May), Daliso Chaponda (9 June), Sarah Millican (13, 14 & 15 June) and Joe Lycett (29 September), with the Town Hall diary already taking shape ahead of reopening next year after its current major refurbishment.

A string of top TV credits including 8 Out of 10 Cats, Sunday Night at the Palladium, Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, QI and the Royal Variety Performance have all helped establish Jason as one of the country’s best loved comics.

And, although it’s been a busy few years for Jason since his last smash-hit stand up show, fans of his popular Absolute Radio show will know that he hasn’t changed a bit.

‘Muddle Class’ promises to feature a wealth of new material about Jason growing up ‘working class’ then finding, over the years, that part of him has become ‘middle class’ – causing much confusion along the way.

Looking forward to his new show, Jason said: “Somebody said to me on my Facebook page, ‘it’s been ages since you toured.’ I thought ‘no way, it was last year wasn’t it?

“Anyway, long story short, they were right, it was years ago. I just got fooled cos I’ve been on tour doing musicals and the last tour is repeated on Dave ja Vu 13 times a day!

“So I’ve been putting some stuff together, looking at my life and how it’s changed over the years, how the world has changed, and how my parents haven’t changed a bit! It’s going to be a great tour, and I can’t wait to see everyone there.”

Rob Guest of Middlesbrough Town Hall said: “Jason has always gone down an absolute storm here at the Town Hall, and we can’t wait to see him back here with his brand-new show. The diary is already shaping up very nicely for next year, there’s more news to follow in the coming weeks and months, and we have some very exciting times ahead. Watch this space!”
