‘They’re the closest you’re ever going to get to the real thing’ – Bill Legend (original T.Rex drummer)
The Riding for the Disabled Association’s Unicorn Centre at Hemlington has a special date with Santa again this year.
They have made special arrangements with Santa for children to meet him in his Grotto on horseback on Sunday 2 December. They will visit him by riding a Unicorn Centre pony through a magical Christmas-themed course in the indoor arena. His elves will be on hand to lead the ponies, help the children and assist Santa with handing out gifts.
Centre Manager Claire Pitt said, “Children love visiting Santa on a pony – it’s special, unique, and very, very popular, so early booking is advised.”
Santa Special pony rides will cost £10.00 each or £19 for two, and include a Christmas rosette and gift. Contact the Unicorn Centre to book a place.
The Centre’s annual Christmas Fair will take place on Thursday 6 December at the Unicorn Centre, Stainton Way, Hemlington, from 5pm to 8pm.
There will be a large range of local stalls, free Christmas crafts for the children, as well as the Unicorn Centre’s own gift stall, raffle and tombola. Rosewood Academy School choir will be singing carols around the Christmas tree at the Fair to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.
And limited pony rides will also be on offer between 5.15pm and 6.30pm. Again booking is advised.
Entry to the Christmas Fair is free. Potential stallholders should contact the Unicorn Centre for more details.
