Boro boy Harry Henderson has made it to the finals of the The Dance World Cup 2020! We spoke to him about his ambitions and his incredible journey, which has started right here in Middlesbrough.

Aged just 14, Harry Henderson from Marton has the world at his feet.

Harry trains each week at dance studio Tabs Studios Performing Arts in Middlesbrough and travels up and down the UK each week competing in prestigious dance competitions.

After winning various titles including the Champion of Champions, he is about to embark on his biggest challenge yet as he prepares for the Dance World Cup 2020 World Finals in Rome this summer.

He has been selected to represent Team England in two solo routines and two group dances and will be up against some of the best dancers in the world.

Harry said: “The Dance World Cup is a huge dance competition! With over 60 countries and around 50,000 competitors it is such an amazing opportunity for me. To enter, I submitted videos of my solos to be reviewed by a panel of judges – and I was successful. I was ecstatic!

“Dancing has had a huge impact on my life. It is a huge commitment and it has changed my life forever. I want to further my dance training at a stage school after finishing school. Then I would like to work professionally – wherever that leads me. I would like to be in the West End musicals or as an entertainment act on cruise ships. Then later open my own dance school.

The finals will take place on June 26-July 4. I can’t wait to take part with team England and the rest of the Phoenix Boys!”
