We have another Magical Middlesbrough Christmas ahead! It’s our favourite time of the year, and for 2019 we’re bringing you some of your favourite annual events with an incredibly exciting new addition – Walking with The Snowman trail!
Christmas at Newham Grange Farm
Daisy and Dan have some of their animal friends coming to visit this Christmas! Pick up a trail map from the Welcome Centre on entry, and see if you can find all 8 of their friends around the farm. Fill in the missing words on the sheet – there’s a treat waiting at the Welcome Centre if you can find them all!
Brand new for winter 2019 is the magical pop up Christmas Village! The mini village features festive huts and houses. Plus on certain days* you can visit Mrs Claus for some Christmas storytelling, and head into the other huts to make some brilliant arts and crafts to take home.
Warm up in the café before taking a stroll around the Woodland Walk to see the twinkly festive lights!
*Mrs Claus and arts and craft sessions are no extra charge, but are only available on the same days and times as the Christmas Show. From 11am – 3.30pm on the following; Sun 8, Sat 14, Sun 15 & Sat 21 – Tues 24 Dec, from 11am to 3.30pm.
A Letter to Santa – A Daisy and Dan Adventure!
Join Daisy and Dan in the giant indoor show tent and head on a Christmas adventure filled with fun and laughter! The pair need your help to get their letter sent off to Santa before Christmas! Lunch and entry to the farm is included in the ticket price.

Whether they’ve been naughty or nice, Santa is wanting all the boys and girls of Middlesbrough pay him a visit at Captain Cook Square this December! Anyone visiting Santa can tell him their special Christmas wishes and they will receive a mini gift to take home.

The Big Sing
The Big Sing is back! Enjoy a hot chocolate, grab your hat and scarf and pick up a song sheet and join in the carols and festive favourites in the town centre. A wonderful way to get in the Christmas spirit.
Orange Pip Christmas Special
The hotly anticipated Orange Pip Christmas Special will return to Middlesbrough Town Hall the Saturday before Christmas.
It’ll be jam-packed with more incredible food stalls, festive mulled wine and cider stands plus there will be Christmas movies to watch, arty fun with the Orange Pip Collective, beautiful gift ideas, a rock-tastic version of karaoke and some extra festive surprises – we can’t wait!

Walking with The Snowman
Raymond Briggs’ world famous and heart-warming story of The Snowman will be brought to life in central Middlesbrough as twelve giant sculptures of The Snowman create a must-see trail – a first for the North East!
Each beautiful giant sculpture has been decorated by a different artist on the theme of the 12 Days of Christmas, so each one is unique. Pick up a Trail Map and head along a journey of discovery taking in locations such as Central Library, Middlesbrough Town Hall and Bedford Street where you’ll discover a different Snowman – visit them all and make sure you tag us in your pictures and selfies using #TheSnowmanWalkBoro

Middlesbrough Theatre are gearing up for another epic run of panto, and this year it’s the classic tale of Sleeping Beauty (oh yes it is!). The hilarious cast includes last year’s panto favourite Philip Green who returns by popular demand. Don’t miss out – book your tickets now!
Christmas Lights Switch On
This year’s Lights Switch On takes place at Centre Square and will be a fun-filled, magical spectacle for all the family to get involved with! One of the region’s best loved presenters, BBC Tees’ Gary Philipson will be hosting and turning on this year’s lights. Plus we have some VIP guests from Middlesbrough Football Club, Spark Drummers and The Gimmie Gimmicks will be playing some festive favourites to warm up the crowd. From 5.30pm catch pre-event fun Orange Pip Market pop-up stalls plus there’s fairground rides for little ones.
Magical Middlesbrough Parade
The ever popular Magical Middlesbrough Parade will take to the streets on Sunday 1st December! Twelve schools and community groups will be the stars of the parade along with Newham Grange Farm’s Daisy and Dan bunny mascots who will lead the route and guide Father Christmas, his elves, and his reindeer to Centre Square. There’s fairground rides and more Orange Pip Market pop-up stalls to enjoy after the parade.

Parking: Free after 3!
Enjoy free after 3pm car parking in all Council car parks every day in December. Launching on 28 November and running until 31 December, the free after 3pm offer is available in all long and short stay council car parks. Check the town centre car park map to find out more.
Visitors can also enjoy free after 3pm car parking on late night shopping nights in Cleveland Centre, Hill Street Shopping Centre and Dundas Shopping Centre car parks.
