Middlesbrough Council has joined forces with Redcar and Cleveland to see if together, the people of both towns can create the world’s biggest outdoor art gallery! It also ties in nicely with #YourBoro – our summer photography campaign to see all your lovely lock down photographs. Use the hashtag to post your window photos, pretty flowers, incredible wildlife, or a moody picture of our town’s iconic landmarks.

The first phase of the project saw lots of people paint beautiful window pictures for the 75th anniversary of VE Day. This time, it’s all about painting your local ‘favourite places’, and there’s four tickets to Newham Grange Farm up for grabs for the winning picture.

The aim of the project is to create the biggest outdoor art gallery the area has ever seen as well as encouraging people to discover their creative side during lockdown. The idea of the project builds on the popularity of window rainbows that have taken the world by storm in recent months.

Every two weeks people across Middlesbrough and Redcar will be given a new theme and encouraged to decorate their windows using materials already in the home and a little imagination!

To be in for a chance to win a trip to the award-winning farm after lockdown, simply paint your ‘favourite place’ picture and position it in a street facing window (if you have one). Then take a picture and send it as a message or tag to the Love Middlesbrough Facebook page or the Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council Facebook page and use the hashtags #enjoyRC or #lovemiddlesbrough. You can also email them over to us at marketing@middlesbrough.gov.uk
